Built on the Lake of the Ozarks — Proven Everywhere
Econo Lift boat lifts are manufactured in Missouri on the Lake of the Ozarks — the most boat-trafficked lake in the United States. The constant wake, surge, and rough water conditions there are more demanding than almost any lake in Alabama. Every lift is engineered to handle that environment daily, which means even the busiest day on Lewis Smith Lake or Lake Guntersville is comparatively easy for an Econo Lift. When you install one at your Alabama dock, you’re getting battle-tested equipment that’s already proven itself under the hardest conditions imaginable.
1 Match Capacity to Your Boat
The most important factor is making sure the lift can handle your boat’s weight. Always choose a lift with at least 20% more capacity than your boat’s loaded weight — that includes fuel, gear, and passengers.
| Boat Type | Typical Loaded Weight | Recommended Lift |
|---|---|---|
| PWC / Jet Ski | Up to 900 lbs | 1,100 lb Jolt |
| Bass Boat / Runabout | 2,500–4,000 lbs | 4,500–6,500 lb |
| Pontoon (2 log) | 3,500–5,500 lbs | 6,500–8,000 lb |
| Tritoon / Wake Boat | 5,000–8,000 lbs | 8,000–10,000 lb |
| Large Cruiser / Cabin | 8,000–16,000 lbs | 10,000–20,000 lb |
Not sure of your boat’s weight? Check the manufacturer’s spec sheet or your boat registration — it lists the dry hull weight, then add roughly 10–15% for fuel and gear.
2 Side Mount vs. Front Mount
The mount type depends on your dock configuration.
- Side Mount — the most common type. Attaches to the sides of a slip. Requires a slip that’s slightly wider than your boat (typically 8–20′ slip width depending on model). Best for covered docks and standard slips.
- Front Mount — attaches at the front/end of the dock. Ideal when you can’t attach to the sides of a slip, or when your dock doesn’t have a traditional slip. Loading works like backing onto a trailer — the back of the boat submerges first.

3 Choose the Right Series
Econo Lift offers three series, each built for different water conditions:
4 Check Your Slip Size
Each lift model has a minimum and maximum slip width it can accommodate. Measure the inside width of your slip before choosing a model.
- Slip width should be at least 2–3 feet wider than your boat
- Each product page lists the compatible slip size range
- Front mount lifts generally require less slip width
- Water depth also matters — minimum 3–4 feet for most models (the Draft series works in shallower water)
